Industrial Maintenance and Plastics Technology

ImageIndustrial Maintenance & Plastics Technology Iand II include classroom and lab experiences that will enable students to enter the workforce directly out of school or go into post-secondary education classes. Students will learn to repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment. Instructional activities encourages students to use problem solving skills related to hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits, and robotics. Students will use the lathe, mill, surface grinder, saws, and drill presses to make and repair parts. They will learn to read blueprints, and read precision measuring tools. Students will become familiar with the use of hand and power tools.

Plastics encompasses classroom and laboratory experiences dealings with plastics and polymers. Activities include injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming operation as well as setup. In our plastics test lab we will do impact, tensile, flexure, and flow rate testing.

The second semester of their senior year students are eligible for internships at several businesses receiving pay as well as their grade and credits.
