School Closings & Delays

Bus Schedules and School Start Times

• If the EVSC is operating on a two-hour delay, everything will run two hours later than normal.
• Buses will pick up students at the normal location two hours later than students are normally picked up (ex. Usual pick up is 7:10 a.m., now pick up will be 9:10 a.m.)
• Schools will begin two hours later than normal times
• Morning pre-kindergarten sessions at EARC and Rehabilitation Center cancelled; afternoon sessions continue as normal.
• Elementary schools and K-6 schools will start at 10:30 a.m.
• Middle schools, K-8’s and high schools will start at 9:30 a.m.
• Building leaders will make the decision as to if breakfast will be served for the entire school. (Breakfast will be served for Extended Day Center students.)

Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center

• Morning (AM classes) will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11:05 a.m.
• Afternoon (PM classes) will begin at 12:20 p.m. and end at 2:10 p.m.
• Students from non-EVSC schools should follow the directions of your home school.

AIS

• AIS will start at 9:30 a.m.
• Students whose arrival time on a regular school day is after the normal school start time, will begin at 11:30 a.m.
• Students who dismiss at or before 11 a.m. on a regular schedule will dismiss at 11 a.m.
• The Learning Center
• TLC will start 2 hours later than normal and release at the normal time of 2 p.m. 

Innovative Model Programs

• Academy of Science & Medicine, Shepard Academy, JROTC and Early College will operate two hours later than normal.
• Morning classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and afternoon classes will begin at 12:20 p.m.
• Academy of Future Educators - AM 9:45-12:30.

Extended Day Centers

• Ed Centers will operate on normal schedule, opening at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served.

Early Childhood

• Wee Care will operate on normal schedule.
• Early Childhood programs at Caze, Cedar Hall, Culver, Daniel Wertz, Dexter, Evans, will start two hours later than usual.
• Culver Developmental Morning Program will be cancelled. The afternoon program will operate as normal. 
• Fee-based early childhood programs – Little Husky World at Scott and Little Panther World at Daniel Wertz will continue to operate 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

RAMP

• Add 2 hours to normal pickup time.

Berry Global Pathways

• Students will remain at SICTC.

Reduced Schedules for students

• Any students that are dismissed up to 11:00-cancelled; late arrivals will be picked up 2 hours later.

MLL-International Newcomers-Middle School @ McGary

• AM classes will be canceled
• PM classes will run as normal (11:45 a.m. - 1:05 p.m.)

ENL at Bosse High School

• No AM classes.
• PM classes will be 12:00 -1:45 p.m.

If the EVSC calls an early dismissal:

• Families will be notified via email, text or phone call if there is an event occurring that requires early dismissal.
• Early childhood classes at Caze, Cedar Hall, Culver, Daniel Wertz, Dexter, Evans, Fairlawn, Lodge, and Scott will dismiss one hour prior to the high school dismissal time that will be announced. TLC will be open 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Little Husky World at Scott and Little Panther World at Daniel Wertz will continue to operate 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Wee Care will operate on normal hours, but we encourage families to pick up their children as soon as they are released from their buildings.
• The Learning Center (TLC) will dismiss at regular time (2 p.m.)
• International Newcomer’s Academies: Students will be released along with the other students from their home schools.
• EARC and Rehab will be cancelled
• Extended Day Center Programs: If dismissed on or before noon, Ed Centers will not open. If dismissed after noon, Ed Centers will remain open.
• ASM, SICTC, Early College, Shepherd Academy, JROTC, RAMP: will ride home with regular busing.
• All afterschool activities will be cancelled.
• Reduced Schedules for students: Any students that are dismissed at 12:00 or later will ride regular buses home or through transfer.

If the EVSC announces a cancellation, that means no classes will be in session.

• Extended Day Centers are closed. If cancellation is declared after the Centers have already opened, parents will be notified to pick up their children.
• All activities, games, programs, performances, and other events will be cancelled. Practices and activities may be held on a voluntary basis. 
• Wee Care sites are closed if school is cancelled.
• The EVSC's RAMP program also will be cancelled. 
• Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center: For non-EVSC students, if your school is closed and SICTC is open, follow your home school's direction regarding SICTC attendance. 

In the event school is canceled or students are released early, organizations who have events planned in EVSC facilities must contact the EVSC prior to continuing with event. These events will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
