From the group that brought the iEngineering Summer Experience to the tri-state comes a whole new summer experience to allow even more students to experience real-world skills for real-world jobs. Starting this summer, the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center (SICTC) will offer the opportunity for area 6th and 7th-grade students to participate in the 2023 T.R.E.K. Summer Experience. The T.R.E.K. Summer Experience is a hands-on introduction to fields associated with architecture/engineering, manufacturing/construction, media communications, culinary, computer science, and transportation careers. This unique summer experience will run four hours a day for one week and is located at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. During the experience, students will have the opportunity to be exposed to four areas of study and take a related field trip. Each area has been built on the T.R.E.K. principle of "Training for Real-world Experience and Knowledge."
The SICTC is excited to provide this opportunity for middle school students to investigate real-world jobs. It is our goal to expose these students to these pathways at an early age for future success in education and the workforce.
