Veterinary Sciences

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Veterinary Sciences provides students with an overview of the field of veterinary science. Students participate in a large variety of activities and laboratory work including real and simulated veterinary science experiences and projects. Areas that the students study may be applied to both livestock and companion animals. Topics to be addressed include: anatomy and physiology, genetics, reproduction and biotechnology, nutrition, office and hospital management, careers in veterinary science and animal science, animal health, meeting environmental requirements of animals, and management practices for the care and maintenance of animals. The students will also learn many skills that are common veterinary assistant requirements in a veterinary office or hospital.
