SICTC Delay Schedule/Inclement Weather

The EVSC uses a notification system called Communicate to connect with students’ families. With this system, families will be notified if there is a change in the day’s schedule due to inclement weather or other unforeseen situations. As often as possible, the EVSC will strive to make the decision to alter the school day as quickly as possible. Families are urged to make alternate plans BEFORE severe weather is predicted, so there is a plan in place. In addition to a call, email or text from Communicate, individuals may also check the EVSC or school websites, watch television news broadcasts, listen to local radio stations, or check the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation Facebook page or Twitter Account, to see when a decision has been made.

SICTC School Delay Schedule - Weather Delay Schedule
If there is a need for a one (1) or two (2) hour delay of school, the EVSC schedule will be used. Information regarding the delay will be on both radio and television.

SICTC One (1) Hour Delay
Morning (AM class) will begin at 8:40 AM and end at 10:40 AM
Afternoon (PM class) will begin at 12:00 PM and end at 2:10 PM

SICTC Two (2) Hour Delay
Morning (AM class) will begin at 9:40 AM and end at 11:05 AM
Afternoon (PM class) will begin at 12:20 PM and end at 2:10 PM

It is EVSC school policy that any day school is in session, all students are to be in attendance. This applies if a delay is called. Ultimately, it is the home school and/or a parental decision whether to allow students to be transported or drive to the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center on a delayed schedule. The sending schools should inform the SICTC if their students will not be attending. If notified, students will be counted as absent excused. If not notified, students will be counted as unexcused.
