COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 2-year program offers students the opportunity to obtain a foundation in Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology and Professional healthcare exploration through careers in medicine, nursing, dentistry, physical and occupational therapy to name a few. Students become familiar with basic patient care skills used in all areas of healthcare, practice professionalism, communication and employability skills, and work through learning labs in a variety of disciplines such as, forensics, imaging, dental, cardiac and more. Students can earn certifications in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, National Health Association - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, HIPPA - Career Safe and OSHA 10 hours - Career Safe. Students develop laboratory and office skills and complete a ten-week clinical observation in two career areas at the end of the second year.
