Approximately 7,000 students enroll annually in Career and Technical Education in District #46. Programs of study are offered at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center and "sending" high schools in the district. Students select from various programs in trade and industry, business, marketing, agribusiness, health science, engineering, and family and consumer science.
Teachers often have personal, occupational experience in their teaching content and combine real-world experience with a "hands-on" curriculum to provide students with excellent learning opportunities. Career and Technical Education programs also have business advisory committees, which enable teachers and business/industry representatives to work together to develop curricula, identify equipment needs, and provide up-to-date information regarding career opportunities and workforce demands.
